At AREA, we are dedicated to strengthening the real estate profession and supporting our members in upholding the highest standards of practice. AREA Professional Development provides educational tools to help members develop technical skills and achieve professional excellence. In addition to optional training opportunities, AREA also requires its members to complete one formal course each year, which is covered within member dues.
In 2018, the mandatory training is Everyday Ethics? and has already been added to all member accounts. The courses below are available to AREA members and non-AREA members. AREA’s online course catalogue has been designed to be compatible with Apple and Android devices. Find the desktop learning computer requirements here. AREA Professional Development also publishes a number of educational resources to assist Alberta’s REALTORS® and consumers. You can find these resources here. AREA launched In your AREA on August 31, 2019. We’re looking forward to tackling topics that are relevant to all AREA members. The information will be a refresher to some, education for others, and a resource for all. You can find all episodes of In Your AREA here.
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA)
CREA is one of Canada’s largest single-industry trade Associations. Our membership includes more than 125,000 real estate brokers, agents and salespeople, working through 90 real estate Boards and Associations across Canada.
The REALTOR® Code, which sets out standards of professional conduct for members of CREA, helps protect the rights and interests of buyers and sellers. And our advocacy to governments continues to influence legislation for the benefit of homeowners.
CREA’s efforts also allow our REALTOR® members to better serve their clients. Our vigilant eye on both the economy and government, plus the economic statistics and analysis we provide, enhance our members’ knowledge. This in turn can improve the quality of advice they can provide to clients. As well, the REALTOR® Code helps create a level of trust between REALTOR® and their clients.
