A kitchen range hood definitely serves an important purpose, making sure the humid, food-scented grease and steam produced when cooking is sucked out of your home. But that doesn’t mean it can’t also be a statement piece. Thinking of your range hood as part of the initial design rather than as simply a functional addition will give your space the overall vibe that everything within it was selected purposefully.
There are two main styles of range hood – one piece or two. A one-piece contains the outer shell that you see from the kitchen and the inner fan that exhausted fumes. This is the more standard, classic look and is perfect if you want a simple, understated look. A two-piece range hood contains a separate out shell and inner fan. The inner fan is often called an insert and can go into a multitude of outer styles. You can either buy a separate outer shell in the style you want or have something custom made. Essentially, the sky is the limit!
